Mr. Urteago focuses exclusively on high-stakes litigation, representing clients in complex commercial disputes, business divorces, real estate matters, and catastrophic injury cases including wrongful death. A Texas Tech Law graduate (2011), he has built a sophisticated practice spanning state and federal courts, bankruptcy proceedings, and arbitration forums. His strategic advocacy and results-driven approach have earned him recognition as a Super Lawyers Rising Star (2021-2024).

As lead counsel, won a complete victory after a bench trial for real estate investors alleging breach of contract and fiduciary duty claims against a developer (Ranchito Dallas Apts, LLC et al. v. K-D Partners, LLC, in the 116th Judicial District Court, Dallas County).

As lead counsel, obtained a judgment denying a debtor’s discharge in a bankruptcy adversary proceeding between a law firm and its former client (The Barbknecht Firm, P.C. v. Hope Renee Keese, in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Texas). The judgment was eventually reversed on appeal and the dispute was settled prior to further proceedings in the bankruptcy court.

As lead appellate counsel, obtained reversal of dismissal of claims brought by residents against the City of Cisco for inverse condemnation (Lloyd Houghton, et al. v. City of Cisco, in the 11th Court of Appeals in Eastland, Texas).

As lead appellate counsel, obtained affirmance of summary judgment granted in favor of restaurant group against a customer that sued after suffering catastrophic injuries following a slip-and-fall accident (Pamela McCarty, et al. v. Hillstone Restaurant Group, Incorporated, in the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit).

Second-chair of the trial team that secured a $2.122M jury verdict and ownership declaration in a business divorce involving automotive businesses (Zidan v. Zidan, in the 429th Judicial District Court, Collin County).

Second-chair of the trial team that obtained a seven-figure arbitration award against the Ritz Carlton HOA for long-term water damage claims.

Second-chair of the trial team that obtained $3.6M judgment for fraud and breach of fiduciary duty against former media company CEO (Hulme and Five Points Holdings, LLC v. Delgado, in the 68th Judicial District Court, Dallas County).
Mr. Urteago’s practice encompasses all phases of complex litigation from emergency injunctive relief through trial and appeal. He has particular expertise in business divorces, partnership disputes, and high-value commercial real estate matters.
